At the Rio Olympics in 2016, I opened the ceremony for the House of Russia — the country's official representation — at Forte de Copacabana. Rooms like that teach you fast. But it started long before, and quieter. I grew up in music — a songwriter first, writing lyrics and singing in my own band, my father's MPB guitar in Rio bars, a grandmother who sang in church. Seventeen years ago I started DJing there too, for the love of it: clubs, carnaval, a night opening for International DJ Seth Schwarz in Vidigal.
I moved to Perth seven years ago and built a career in graphic design. Three years ago I left it for good — I gave up the full-time job to give everything to this. DJ Ivy began on the road: an independent mobile act playing everywhere from Cottesloe to the Swan Valley, Yallingup and Margaret River. Alongside it came a two-year residency at The Cottesloe Beach Club — Fridays and the Second Sunday Sesh — until I stepped away in late 2025 for a new direction. And here we are.

A Set Is a Response
I play live, always — no fixed sets, no pre-built sequences. But responsive isn't random. Your vision is my compass: I start from the feeling you want, then read the room as it shifts and steer it there in real time. What begins under conversation turns to momentum, then to something shared — a floor that doesn't need convincing. My sound signature is a melting pot of R&B grooves, funk, jazz house, disco, soulful and deep house. I take the songs a room already knows — 80s, 90s, the pop everyone loves — and rework them into hard-to-find edits I fell for in Rio, threaded through a warm soul bounce. Familiar enough that everyone connects. Strange enough that no one's heard it quite like this.
